A Story About Roses And Their Colors Okay, so I get a new boss and I figure I’ll welcome her to the company with a small gift. Nothing extravagant, something simple like a coffee mug with her name on it. I stop off at the local gift shop and all I can find are guy mugs, no girls? So I figured it must be some kind of male testosterone thing to have your name on a coffee mug. Now what do I do? As I leave the gift shop across the street I see a florist shop. That’s it! Flowers, women love flowers. I ought to know, many a transgression has been forgiven over a timely bouquet of flowers, especially Red roses. I feel quite pleased with myself as I cross the street, this should make a good impression. As I browse through the store, the thought occurs to me that I don’t want it to appear that I’m sucking up to the boss, so when I turn and see all the colorful roses - white, yellow, pink, coral, orange and red, I decide, I’ll keep it simple and get a single rose, but which one? The white roses look nice but this being winter, they remind me too much of snow. The red roses are vibrant and a wonderfully deep shade of red, almost a burgundy color. My answer is simple. A magnificent single red rose is what is called for, not too showy, but elegant and tasteful. Now, being very pleased with my self, I clutch my red rose and continue on to work. .......
